Federal Lab – Energy Efficiency Assessment
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Enginuity Consulting was retained to produce a Preliminary Energy Efficiency Assessment for a Federal client based in Ontario. The goal was to understand the existing building energy consumption for their heating and ventilation systems across several complex lab facilities. Our team carried out a walkdown and analysis of over a dozen buildings with over 200,000 square feet of dedicated analytical, wet, and material testing lab spaces. After calculating baseline consumption for each space, Enginuity proposed several Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) with detailed calculations on potential savings per ECM for each building to reduce consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The ECMs analyzed showed potential reductions from 40 to 70% compared to baseline. The next phase involves a front-end engineering design for various ECMs for a subset of these buildings as a pilot study for the remainder of their facilities. *Due to confidentiality, photos are representative and not actual*
