ABOUT THE PROJECT
Seaspan ULC provides marine-related services ranging across shipyards, intermodal ferries, and tug and barge transportation. Enginuity was retained by Seaspan to assess the feasibility of a warehouse demolition and redevelopment for future land use. Enginuity also provided structural repairs for temporary warehouse rehabilitation.
ENGINUITY’S RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS PROJECT INCLUDED:
- Code review
- Demolition plan and cost estimation
- Evaluation of future land use options
- Due diligence on site-services & utilities for redevelopment
- Feasibility report evaluating demolition vs. repair and rehabilitate
- Cost Estimation with CapEx. & OpEx. parameters
To manage on-going safety and business risks to aged, deteriorating assets, Enginuity provided short term and cost-effective strategy to address the risks:
- Warehouse visual inspections and categorization of findings in order of priority
- Engineering design for reinforcement and rehabilitation of critical items to extend service life
- Construction Work Package for execution of repairs
