ABOUT THE PROJECT

Seaspan ULC provides marine-related services ranging across shipyards, intermodal ferries, and tug and barge transportation. Enginuity was retained by Seaspan to assess the feasibility of a warehouse demolition and redevelopment for future land use. Enginuity also provided structural repairs for temporary warehouse rehabilitation.

ENGINUITY’S RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS PROJECT INCLUDED:

  • Code review
  • Demolition plan and cost estimation
  • Evaluation of future land use options
  • Due diligence on site-services & utilities for redevelopment
  • Feasibility report evaluating demolition vs. repair and rehabilitate
  • Cost Estimation with CapEx. & OpEx. parameters

To manage on-going safety and business risks to aged, deteriorating assets, Enginuity provided short term and cost-effective strategy to address the risks:

  • Warehouse visual inspections and categorization of findings in order of priority
  • Engineering design for reinforcement and rehabilitation of critical items to extend service life
  • Construction Work Package for execution of repairs
