VOLCANO CREEK HYDROELECTRIC POWERHOUSE
About the project
In a new 7.6 Mega Watt hydroelectric powerhouse for AltaGas Ltd, Enginuity Consulting provided the design, specification, and layout of equipment, building HVAC, as well as engineered a 40 gpm water supply system utilizing the same 300 psi water that powered the generators out of the penstock. Hydrodynamic analysis were done to ensure the safety and reliability of the system.
Enginuity’s scope also included HVAC design to meet temperature needs inside the building for human operation and equipment functioning. Analysis was performed to design a cooling system that handled the heat rejection load induced by the generators and provide a workable environment. The project includes liaising with a team of consultants and contractors.
