Stuyver’s Bread – Process Facility Expansion

ABOUT THE PROJECT

When retail food demand surged during the COVID-19 pandemic, many producers, processors, and manufacturers found that their facilities had become a constraint on their ability to keep pace. Aging infrastructure, limited production space, and outdated layouts disrupted operations, while attempts to scale often exposed hard ceilings on growth.

Stuyver’s Bread used this period as an opportunity to strengthen its position in the market through a major expansion of its industrial bakery in Langley, BC. The objective was not simply to increase production capacity, but to create a more efficient, scalable facility designed to support long-term growth.

Envisioned as a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility, the expansion would introduce significant improvements to ingredient storage, production flow, equipment layout, and overall operational efficiency.

Working closely with Stuyver’s, Enginuity delivered multidisciplinary engineering support from initial consultation and planning, providing services including facility design, process integration, site feasibility, regulatory compliance, and equipment coordination.

At completion, the expansion had more than doubled the facility’s original throughput while improving efficiency and overall workflow. More importantly, it gave Stuyver’s Bread the room to keep growing, take on new opportunities, and adapt with the confidence of a facility built to support whatever would come next.
