WWS – New Processing Facilities
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Wallenius Wilhelmsen Solutions (WWS) is a market leader vehicle logistics, managing the distribution of cars, trucks, rolling equipment and breakbulk to customers all over the world. The Annacis Island facility is the main hub for import of cars into the Lower Mainland. This project built upon previous feasibility work carried out by Enginuity in 2020.
The Facilities portion of this project involved demolition, replacement, and new construction of processing facilities to optimize terminal operations. The purpose was to improve efficiency and capacity of the auto terminal, to support climate change resiliency by responding to the increased demand of electric vehicles, and to support economic development.
Services Rendered from Conceptual to Project Delivery:
- Code review and consultation for new processing buildings
- Concept design to mitigate ground improvement and construction costs – involved relocating proposed facility footprint
- Utility Relocations
- Prime Consultant supplying in-house engineering disciplines and coordination/management of third parties: architectural, geotechnical, utility scans
- Coordination of Pre-Engineered Building Suppliers
- Detailed Engineering: Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Fire Protection, Electrical
- Ground Improvements / Stone Columns due to site conditions
- Capex / Opex Studies and Value Engineering
