Sustainability and Environmental Impact

Our organization, staff, and consultants care about the environment and sustainability is core to our culture and corporate mandates. We corporately reduce our carbon footprint and promote sustainable practices through the following. We proactively provide energy efficiency and analysis projects where we calculate and deliver unique solutions for active and passive energy recovery means with our industrial clients.

  • Energy Savings and Utilization of Grants

We incentivize such projects through the promotion and leverage of grants and other government fund initiatives such as Clean Industry BC and programs through BC Hydro. Our team is an Alliance Consultant with BC Hydro and an Approved Consultant for Fortis BC’s various programs. Through these programs we have directly contributed to Energy Reduction Projects by performing energy reduction studies, CAPEX and OPEX studies, where we have reduced thousands of metric tons of GHG & C02 from the atmosphere. Several of our recent industrial projects have involved conversions to biofuels and bio-diesel, reduction of natural gas and electricity consumption, energy audits and various operational energy conservations measures (ECMs).

  • Design in Accordance to Sustainable Guidelines

For Client’s wishing to incorporate Sustainability Guidelines, we ensure those are implemented through the design phase. These may include Green Infrastructure Guideline Standards for public projects, recommendations through National Research Council, LEED design practices, and Clean Energy Council, or Corporate Sustainability metrics.

  • Green and Sustainable SOPs

We have standard SOP’s and processes embedded in our workflow to ensure checks, balances, and assurance that sustainable and green practices are being followed from concepts and design through to construction. This is an important part of our value engineering services that look at constructability, efficient designs, as well as reduction of operating costs through energy savings opportunities.

  • Ethical and Sustainable Culture

We proactively decline business opportunities where we believe there is lack of sustainable initiatives, and through every project, actively conceptualize and produce designs and identify opportunities for green practices, such as more energy efficient processes, fuel-switching, heat recovery, utilization of recycled materials, integration of existing assets and infrastructure into new designs, etc.
